I want to know the backstory of this plane on the roof of a gas station in Carruthers, CA.
I took my son to the Carruthers fair today because he was performing with his percussion band and took a few pics of what I saw, including a cool Triumph Spitfire that was backfiring and farting its way down the road.
I liked it.

The thought of Sweet Home Alabama playing in California is kind of amusing

Since I’ve been been hanging out with some commemorative air-force guys I know about the plane. It was an Air Gas station in the 50s and the plane is a WWII era trainer

Not a whole lot of info. Looks like a T-6 Texan.

I wonder if the owner of that plane is a fan of the movie 1941.

The plane looks like a Vultee BT-13. They’re pretty rare now.

A Marimba! That’s actually my instrument. Too bad I havent played in like 4 years now. I kinda miss it but I don’t miss my wrists feeling like fire. Maybe I’ll make a pvc pipe one someday and learn the Mario theme!
